A man now faces murder charges following a devastating stabbing in Hockley, Leicestershire, yesterday evening. Police responded to reports of a serious assault on Broad Street around 7:30 PM.
Mark Hughes, 38, has been charged in connection with the death of a 28-year-old man. The victim sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene, leaving a community in shock.
Detectives are continuing their investigation, appealing for witnesses who may have seen or heard anything relevant. "Our thoughts are with the victim's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time," stated a police spokesperson.
Leicestershire Police confirmed Hughes appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court today. He is currently in custody awaiting further proceedings.
